Editorial Space
From 3D Artist issue #32, page 6, by Bill Allen, 3DA Editor/Publisher
A big "thanks!" to Alex Kiriako, who departs with this issue. His four years as Associate Editor took him into many roles at 3D Artist as we shaped and reshaped the magazine to serve a growing field, and as we more than quadrupled circulation.
___
Cecilia Ziemer has been both a prolific contributor and one among a number of non-staffers who quietly help 3D Artist be the magazine it is. Now she has come aboard as Assistant Editor to take over some of Alex's editing functions.
___
An unrelated but timely note is that we have changed John Crane's title to Contributing Editor. He was originally hired in 1996 as Assistant Editor to fill a now defunct news position, but continues on to make important contributions mainly as a writer.
Will landscape programs and 3D applications converge? For some clues, see pages 22-23 and 26 about cross-over uses.
___
We're happy to have Escheresque 3D, part II, on pages 20-21. Part I was in 3DA#30, and there will be at least one more.
___
Using 3D for historical re-creation is a focus now in the works, and we still have some space for related contributions.
