In his full Cover Story, the artist stresses his use of low-polygon-count modeling, and tells about the process of texture mapping his Abraham Lincoln figure.

Errata & additional info:
Page 19: (1) There is a mistake in Roy Rigg's URL, and, depending on your ISP, you may need to use a fuller URL, anyway: personalweb.edge.net/~fur/. (2) The reference to the Poser updater should be to Poser 3.0.1, not 3.1.
Page 21: The update Kinetix has posted that may fix a big problem with 3DS Viz r2 is a DLL for walls; however, it is not the wall.dll, but rather the amodeler.dll.
Page 23: (1) The URL in the Certified Training Services ad is missing ".com." When we checked it on 14 March, we found that the correct URL wasn't working either, that the www.3dviz.com site is down for overhaul. For now, you can call 248/488-0588 or E-mail to <aerodata@3dviz.com>. (2) There is a mistake in the conclusion of the review of Advanstar's 3D Studio Max Applied Release 2.0 book, which the author reviewed favorably but denounced for coming with a CD-ROM that he thought required an authorization code to access. That criticism should have been replaced instead with this editor's comment: The book purchaser may be misled to believe that the accompanying CD-ROM can be accessed only by first getting an authorization code from Advanstar. The book's files are actually fully accessable and authorization is only needed to get at ten additional tutorials on that CD. The reviewer and 3D Artist apologize for taking the CD's instructions literally and so missing this major point.
Page 28: The article about the Unwrap plug-in for 3DS Max r1 and r2 also is useful for 3DS DOS, as there is an IPAS version that can be downloaded from Peter Watje's site at www.max3dstuff.com/ipas.html.
