Brass Texture Tip
Rope is a cinch using Carrara spline objects.

Bleauharterhorn by Cecilia Ziemer, done in Carrara using the brass shader explained here This is the tree for the simple Carrara brass shader used for the Bleuharterhorn. Since it has a fairly low reflectivity and a lightish color in the color channel, it doesn't turn black in the Assemble window.

Top Shader: Multichannel
ColorColorRGB 0.69 - 0.57 - 0.34
HighlightColorRGB 0.99 - 0.87 - 0.45
ShininessValue6%
ReflectionColorRGB 0.43 - 0.36 - 0.20
Bump, Transparency, and Refraction channels all have a value set to 0. Glow is the default black. Even though it's not a perfect mirror, it still needs something to reflect.
